I’ve been waiting sooooo patiently to share images from this shoot with you all, and I’m so glad that today I finally can as it’s just been published in Rock My Wedding HERE
The inspiration for this wedding inspiration was the exotic and lush scenery in the Wisley Garden greenhouse because it is such a unique and refreshing departure from the more traditional venues available to brides in the London area! I love that the scenery instantly transports you to a tropical paradise and I think this type of venue is perfect for a bride who doesn’t want to have to worry about the weather–you are guaranteed light filled images despite what is going on outside and you still get the feeling of being in nature!
I was so lucky to work with an incredible team who came together to create all of the whimsical, vintage and classic details and I’m so excited to photograph my next Wisley Garden wedding!
And one more fun note–did anyone think the bride looks a little familiar? I can personally confirm that former Miss Wales is just as sweet as she is gorgeous!
To keep things simple and go along with the botanical theme, the table was decorated with a “jungle floor” consisting of succulents and limestone potted plants and ferns, interspersed with elegant vintage candlesticks. Tropical chair-back greenery arrangements dressed up chiavari chairs and made a special place for the bride and groom.
As favors for the guests at the place settings, we created seed boxes wrapped in vintage (circa 200 year old) botanical prints found at Portobello Market. My favorite detail of them all though were the insanely beautiful terrarium displays–hung above the table and in one of Wisley’s exotic trees the garden–– adding dimension and a playful, romantic and whimsical visual element. The terrarium display would be perfect for romantic portraits of the couple or an amazing option for a couple giving their vows!
The dress worn by the bride had just the right amount of gold and delicate lace detail along the bustline and was balanced perfectly with the flowing, soft ivory tulle. Makeup was kept romantic, natural and dewey using a palate primarily of golds and neutral tones and the Bride’s look was finished with a relaxed bohemian braided crown.
The gorgeous cake was textured in a rich buttercream and adorned with pieces of gold leaf, orchids and succulent.
Signature cocktails and biscuits garnished in edible flowers completed the look – and tasted just as delicious as they were beautiful!
