A couple of weeks ago I wandered around the back streets of Kensington for some engagement style photography with the most adorable couple EVER. Seriously, the cutest. We spent most of this session hysterically laughing– so much so that when I went home my throat was still a bit ticklish. No joke–during this shoot I slipped on a banana, the groom was pooed on by some birds in the park, there was a bit of scuttering around in the streets like Sebastian, and the groom fearfully pleaded not to have to drink unhomogenized milk (he didn’t, don’t worry!). Their obvious love, her gorgeous smile, his great hair–seriously a photographers dream!
Since Valentines Day is just around the corner, we decided to give this couple’s session a love inspired twist by incorporating some sweet details and stopping by a few places in the neighborhood where their courtship began. Chocolate chip heart shaped cookies, a glittery heart garland, some heart shaped confetti, “he’s mine” “she’s mine” signs and some “lovewiches” were reminiscent of some of the Valentines projects I remember doing as a child and added a sweet homemade feel to the shoot. Since London is such a special place for these two, I tried my best to reflect the city in such a subtle and charming way and I think the cobblestone Mews streets and colorful carriage doors do the trick! I also love the variety of scenery we were able to get all within a 10 minute walk around the neighborhood!
I’m also super excited that this couple’s shoot has also been published by one of my favorite style publications–Inspired by This here !
Enjoy!
